Rick LaGrassa, serving time for a felony drank driving conviction, pulled up the leg of his pants and showed a lumpy limb that appeared to have a bone pushing up the skin. “The bone started knitting in the wrong position, so now they have to rebreak the leg and reset it,” LaGrassa said. He said he was scheduled to go lo an orthopedic surgeon in Sacramento in mid-December but instead did not see a doctor until Jan. 14, when he visited a Plaeerville specialist. That doctor, Greg Dixon, declined to discuss details of Ms patient’s case, so the Democrat was unable to learn whether the month delay aggravated LaGrassa’s condition as he daims.
