GEORGIA FELONS CONSTRUCT OWN ESCAPE-PROOF PRISONBuford, Ga.—About 100 of Georgia’s prisoners have built a new $1,000,000 home, one df the finest and most modern of its kind in the nation—but they all hope they won’t have to live in it.It is the rock quarry prison, an escape-proof Alcatraz, built on 11 acres of solid granite for men that are almost as hard as the foundation—Georgia’s incorrigibles.It will be occupied around March 1 and has room for 325 of the state’s most hardened convicts, defiant rebellious men who, by their conduct, slam the door on rehabilitation and parole.All of it was designed and built by prisoners, from the architect’s drawing to the last detail of electric wiring. ! lt;”-f/
