Head the Charter to Lucid.A police captain yesterday took a copy of the city charter and went down in South West street to read it to some of the saloon* keepers in that section of the city, who are insisting that police officers have no right to visit.their places. Am one the numberwas Mike Lucid, who was arrested last Sunday. Lucid listened to the reading in silence, and when it waa over, exclaimed: “Duz yez mane that the bloody polace has a right to cum into me plaze?”‘'Yes, Mike, that it what the charter says.”“Piiell we might as will shet up the biz-ness. It’s not long ’twill be till we'll all be goin’ down to the Commercial Club wid our baskets.”
