meat sold the defendant.Richard Nash and Charles Dean of Bethlehem, were at the county jailyesterday and had a long conferencewith Ed Powell regarding the robbing of the store of the former some two weeks since. Powell waa verynervous during the conversation andcontradicted himself several times regarding the part Jehn Brown took in the afuir. It is thought that Jeffries is now under arrest at some point up the river, as a man answering his description Is now being detained. Mr. Nash stated that he would spare no expense to capture all the persons connected with theaflair and to prosecute them te thelast.
