her defence.BOW-STBEET.The defendant Lot eland% described as a ralet, was brought yp for final examination, before Mr. Vaughan, on, the cnarge of causing the death of Joseph Deeley, by knocking him down with a dog-cart, which defendant was driving.—Mr. C. P. Gill, barrister, defended.—Mr. P. B. Conolly, house surgeon at Charing-cross Hospital, deposed tuat rhe deceased suhered from two wounds in'the head, occasioned by the fail and by the wheel of the trap. He was restless and could give no account of the occurrence. He died at seven the next morning.—In cross-examination witness said tbe deceased was a man of it'll habit, and at first he thought he was suffering and delirium tremens, although he could hot apeak positively oa tnat point.—Mr. Vaughan said such an opinion ought not to have beeu expressed unless witness was certain on the point.—Witness said he formed the conclusion partly from the conversation he had with the widow as to the habits of her husband.—Mr. Vaughan asked why the widow was not asked that question.—Mr. GUI said he did not like to as* such a question of the lady during her present affliction.—Mr. Vaughan said the question ought to have been put, and he would have pat it himself if he thought such a suggestion was to be made by the defence. — Mr. Gill said he had only put questions aocording to hi* instructions.—The defendant was then committed for trial.xr a Ttmn-onrrn.Tr C'Tdvpt
