Grand Jury Drawn and Three Indict ments Have Been Returned. EMMETSBURG MEN ARE NABBED Picked Up at Local Hotel and Held to the Grand Jury for Carry ing Booze on Trains. Court was opened Monday by Judge Coyle. R. A. Palmer was appointed grand jury clerk.G. A. Brunson and W. V. Garlon were made bailiffs. The following grand jury was chosen: Albert Butterfield, Irvington, fore man; Nick Gales, Bode, John W. Hill, Germania, M. L. McEnroe, Algona, Ed Meyer, Wesley, J. F. Nowel, Fanton, Mike Sandt, Bancroft. The grand jury has returned three indictments; one for burglary against Frank Arnold, the man who was found in Dr. Kain’s home one night last fall, and one each against Frank Brady and Guilford McNamara, of Em matsburg, for carrying Aquor on trains. Brady and McNamara were picked up at the Northwestern Hotel last Wednesday night. Someone at the hotel suspected that their grips contained liquor, and notified Night Marshal Grant Anderson, who on in vestigation found such to be the case, and arrested them. Justice Hutchi son held them to the grand jury. They are expected to plead guilty, Quy Dunn and J. W. Allenmore, ar rested some time ago for booze-sell ing, were fined $60 each, and are lay ing their fines out in the county jail. Dan Coonan, indicted last fall for bootlegging, and released on a $300 ball bond put up by a Whittemore farmer, did not show up for trial, but his attorney entered a plea of guilty for him, and the court forfeited enough of the bond to pay a fine of $50 plus costs. It looks like a very light term of court. The petit jurora were all dis missed yesterday, except twelve drawn to try the case of Jos. Zanke vs. the Milwaukee railroad. In this case Mr. Zanke is claiming $410 dam ages resulting from delay in the ship ment of four carloads of cattle to Chi cago USAr BFC, Geo. St. John has been granted a divorce, and a decree has also been entered in the case of Hoeck' va. Hoeck, from Bancroft,
