Although Antioch College president Dr.James Dixon shares the national chairmanship with comedian Dick Gregory, he has not participated in forming a local chapter, his secretary, Mrs.Dorothy High, said Wednesday,Two Antioch students, SteveLanders and Jeffrey Davidson, have held one or two organizational meetings on campus.The New Party expects to hold inaugural ceremonies inWashington, D.C., March 4 to install Gregory as head of a “government in exile” as t a protest of established political parties’ activities'.The Young Democrats will meet at 8 p.m Thursday, Feb.20, in the Schlafman k Elliott law offices, S. Central Ave,,Fairborn, to consider its relationship to the New Democratic Coalition, Cain says.Cain describes the New Democratic Coalition (NDC), which he says Is more active in northern Ohio industrial cities than in southwest Ohio, as a “symptom of what’s wrong with the Democratic party at present.” He emphasizes it is not a fourth party, but is one whose members hope to work within the Democartic organt-zation to “get people concerned in an issue-oriented party.”Both NDC and the Young Democrats, he says, have the common purpose of serving as a vehicle for citizen involvement, First members of the *roup were the original supporters of Sens. Eugene McCarthy, Robert Kennedy and George McGovern and some Vice President Hubert Humphrey supporters. The group,Cain says, wants to get away from “courthouse politics.” Next week’s Young Democrat meeting will be open to the public, Cain says, as will an NDC convention to be held in Cleveland April 19-20. V The Wallace group, in contrast to the Democratic clubs, Has not been making, public statements about its acitvities, other than to announce meeting dates.
