Ernest Kidd, age 2d. 1701 Meadow avenue, Middletown, was arrested earlv Saturday on a errand« •larceny charge after he allegedlyscooped about $140 from the cash register at the Shell service station, High and Front streets.John Ballinger, attendant, told Detective William Harrett and Patrolman Phillip Baker, that Kiddentered the station about 0:1a. m. and asked permission to use the washroom.When he came out of the room he walked over to the cash register, scooped up the money, then fled, Ballinger reported.Forty-five minutes later the officers arrested Kidd across the street from the service station, and recovered the loot.No date for Kidd's arraignment in municipal court has been set.
