SHE TOOK OPIUM TO RELIEVE PAINtvMrs. Lee Guey died on Sunday at the Chinese ranch on the Philo Jewett place under circumstances that called for official investigation.Barly that morning, Dr. C. A. Rog* crs was called to attend the woman and found her yitig. He could issue no certificate of death and notified Coroner Buckreus.The official investigation revealed t the dtceased came to her death by opium self ad ministered. It was developed that In her childhood she swallowed a needle and that at intervals of late, she had suffered excruci* atlng pains in the region of the heart, and it is presumed that the needle is lodged near that organ.She was accustomed to take opiumto relieve the pain and on Saturday night broke open a chest and took a large amount, then retiring to an outhouse where she was found later.Mrs Lee Guey was a bride of but two months, the Chinese farmer having brought her here from San Fran-i o n /%
