Difficult Shot of ait -Confederate Sharp* ihuoter fluit In (he IVick of Time.Savannah, Ga.# February 9.—On Thursday morning' Jacob Worthington, a wealthy fanner o Madison, Fla., awoke to find that during the night his two children, a team of horses and $600 in money had been stolen. Suspicion pointed to alaborer, whose whereabouts a search failed toreveal. Collecting an armed band, VVoi thing-ton started In pursuit, and, upon arrivingat Boston, Ga., late at night, learned thatthe kidnapper had passed through there with hisplunder just a few Hours before. Hard riding overtook the fugitive yesterday afternoon at a gorge on the banks of the Chattahooche. The kidnapper drew uis revolver and threatened to kill the tirst man who approached. Several shots were exchanged without efTect. The kiduapper then placet! the children between himself and his pursuers, threatening to kill them if further molested. While lie was delivering his harangue, Mr. Oxen-diue, an ex-Contederate sharpshooter, pressed his rifle to his shoulder and shot the desperado dead. The children and horses i\ere recovered, but the money has uot been iound.
