Man sentenced to penitentiary for killing wifeRobert Leroy Harding, who pleaded guilty in the death of his wife, has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years at Western Penitenitary in Pittsburgh.He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and costs of prosecution. Sentence was imposed by visiting Judge John A. Cherry.On Sept. 29, 1981, Harding, 35, of Savannah Road, pleaded guilty to a general charge of murder in the Nov. 24,1980, death of his wife, Betty Ann.Mrs. Harding, 31, was found at her home at 8 E. Rainey Ave., South New Castle Borough. She was shot in the back with a shotgun.
