In his patrol car and checking the baseball diamond portion of Arroyo Park when he heard loud voices coming from San Pasqual Park across Ihe Arroyo Seco on the Los Angeles side. • Lawrence said he followed the loud voices and thought they were coming from a large clump of trees. When the officer shined his spotlight on the trees, several shots were fired from what sounded ' like a large-caliber gun, he said.The officer left his patrol car and took cover. Then Lawrence said he heard another shot' and saw a muzzle flash.
