Graham’s handwritingwith writing found on “variousdocuments” that could indicate his actions were premeditatedwhen he allegedly shot his ex-wife in a local restaurant.Assistant State Attorney Albert Grinsted III told a judgeFriday the state has taken possession of “handwritten letters and other things” that could be “material” to the case against Graham, a 26-year-old Air Force sergeant.In his request for the handwriting samnlp Crinstnri Kflidthe documents could lead to “an indication of premeditation.”“We need specimens of (Graham’s) handwriting to determine that (the writing on the documents) is his handwriting,” Grinsted said.Circuit Judge Erwin Fleet, noting that state law specifically provides for the taking of suchsamples, authorized the handwriting analysis.Graham, who appeared incourt Friday with publicdefender T. Michael Johnson, was indicted Dec. 6 on a first-degree murder charge in the slaying of his ex-wife, 21-year-oldMrs. Graham was shot Nov. 5inside the ladies' restroom of theSeason’s Friendly Eatingrestaurant in Mary Esther.After killing his ex-wife, Graham turned his gun on himself, authorities said Graham shot himself in the right side of his head, accordingto sources. He was taken toHumana Hospital Fort Walton Beach for emergency surgery, then underwent about six weeksof physical therapy under thesupervision of sheriff’s deputiesat Eglin Regional Hospital.
