Officers Find Two Men DeadBoth Had Apparently Died Some Days AgoRichard A. McCormick, 58, war found dead in bed in his room al 212 Pleasant street about 4 p. m. Tuesday. He had been ill for about a month.Benton Harbor police responded to a call from.S. W. Hull, proprietor of the Dutch Grill on Pipestone street and owner of the Pleasant streeL rooming house, after he called them and said the man hadn't been out of his room for several days. He said the door was locked and believed the man might be dead because he could not arouse him.Officers sprung the door to gain entrance and ordered the body removed to the Slaughter Hill funeral home. Coroner Louis W. Ker-likowske pronounced the man dead. Immediate survivors were notknown, though the man was believed to have a daughter living somewhere in Ohio. The deceased was born in Ohio on July 29, 1889, and was a veteran of World War I according to scant information available.* * *John Edwards, elderly colored man, was found dead about noon today in his apartment at 1300 East Main street, in Benton township just cast of the Benton Harbor city limits.Berrien County Coroner Louis Kerlikowske pronounced death due to natural causes.According to a report filed at the sheriff’s office by Deputy Sheriff Ronald NeMhorpe, Mr. Edwards had apparently been dead since Monday night.The deputy said he was called to Edwards’ home by Lilly Mae Arhunot, who occupies another apartment in the same building.
