Television reporters from area stations as well as Dallas presented live reports during the 6 o’clock news hour as correctional officers escorted Routier onto the unit.During the day, Mountain View staff conducted several tours of the facility and provided lunch to thenews crews.Senior Warden Pamela Baggett was interviewed numerous times during the course of the day.About 5:30 p.m., Kerr County deputies arrived at the Mountain View Unit with Routier, but had to be rerouted to the Gatesville Unit Reception Center.At the reception center, Routier was photographed, fingerprinted and assigned her prison number.During her stay at Mountain View, she will be assigned to a 6-by-9-foot cell in the red brick bungalow separated from the rest of the unit by a 12-foot-high chain link fence topped with a roll of razor wire.The cell includes a bunk, small bookshelf, sink, commode, a two-drawer chest and a chair.Death row inmates are allowed to work within the confines of thefence.
