Bremer, The Associated Press learned today The report that the fugitive Is Davis was strengthened by the fact that Mrs Edna Mm ray 34-vear-old •'kissing bandit’ who was arrested in Pittsburgh, Ka is the Bremer suspect's girl friendDavis, 33 years old escaped once oefore from the Oklahoma prison at MacAlester, where he was serving a life term for murder. He was re-arrested in Kansas City in 1925,13 riavs after his escape, and returned to prison,(.ivied as “Fugitive”According to records here. Davis was granted a ‘leave of absence’’Nov 3, 1932, until July 1, 1933, at which time it »«• extended to July 1 1934 Since that time he hasbeen listed as a “fugitive”Davis ‘broke away” from the Arthur Barker-Alvin Karpis gang about six months ago. it was learned from a reliable source, but he has been known to have joined Mrs. Murray on everal occasion since Da vis and Mrs. Murray were reported to have been in Kansas City recently. The fact that the escaped prisoner was being transferred from the Missouri cif* to Chicago added to the belief that the fugitive was Pa' is.
