SENT UP FOR STEALING I. C. PROPERTYThe theft of Illinois Central railroad property at Sand Ridge, southwest of Murphys boro, has resulted in the sending of three men to the pen. The men pleaded guilty and were sent to from 1 to 10 years..The men were indicted by a special g*'.»nd jur* calii 1 by Circuit Judge A. L. Spiller of the circuit court.They are J. It. Jordan of Auburn. X. Y.. and Walter Noble and Win. Discheltor of Chicago, arrested h Wm. Underwood of Carbondale. well known police agent for the Illinois Central railroad lines, and Deputy Sheriff Claud Davis, for alleged thef*. of freight.The capture is considered an iai-portant one. Officers accomplishing it gave Miles Demster, merchant, anti Henry Waldbeiser, constable, both of Sand Ridge, due credit as aids. The freight robbers left an I. C. train near the water tank near Sand Ridge Saturday night. Both Messrs. Dempster and Waldbeiser worked hard on the case when asked to aid. Constable Waldbeiser trailed the trio half way to Murphysboro, walking the several miles.
