BIGHAM CONVICTED OF MANSLAUGHTERWalter O. Bigham, of Attica, O., charged with the murder of his wife, Mary, daughter of the late Wm. Fulks of Spencer, this county, after she is said to have confessed planning to elope with another man, Saturday morning was found guilty of manslaughter in tho courts at Tiffin, after the jury had been out all night.The pro ccution contended that Big-ham, while embracing his wife in token of forgiveness after her confession of love for another man, pressed the dagger into her breast as the demon of jealousy flared up again.Bigham contended that he did notkill his wife and that the lt;irst he knew of the tragedy was when he went into the kitchen of their home and found her with a dagger in her heart.While Bigham had confidently expected acquittal, he said, he did not show any signs of emotion when t'e verdict was announced. Paring the time the jury was deliberating on his case he sat. in the sheriff's office chatting with attorneys and court officials.After the verdict was announced, a motion was immediately made for a new trial. The motion will argued some time during the comingtwo week .Bigham left at once for his homein Attica .under $5,000 bond.
