Ringgold DSA Award Presented ToMosheneki Highlight of the Ringgold Jay-cee’s annual Distinguished Service Award banquet at the Holiday Inn Saturday night was the presentation of the chib's DSA award to G-. Wesley Mosh-enek, a buyer for Virginia Tobacco Co.In making the presentation, • Calvin Neal, a former DSA winner and contact man for this, year's award, called Nea] aj “well rounded person . . . (who) has served his community, state and nation in an humbfe man-sner.'J; Moshenek, an Eagle Scout before he enlisted in the Marines at age 16, has served as scoutmaster and was instrumental in organizing the Boy Scout troop ■sponsored by . the Ringgold Grange and Jaycees.Following his medical discharge from the service, he! graduated from the old School-field High School and then theCincinnati College of Embalming, joining the staff of North End Funeral Home (now Barker). He now is associated with Virginia Tobacco Co., although he still maintains an interest; in the funeral home.Moshenek also received a Spark Plug Award at the banquet, as did President Donald E. Layne, Robert W. Scearce and Harry Shriver Jr. Spoke Awards, which go to new Jaycees, were presented to Thomas D, Starkey and Vinton R. Watson.Principal speaker was T, Anthony Pollard, superintendent of Hughes Memorial School and chairman of the Pittsylvania School Board.
