Nothing wrong with Arar settlementIIMaher Arar is to receive $10 million in compensation and an apology from Canada for the torture he underwent as a result of Canada’s negligence. While we as indigenous peoples of these lands applaud this settlement, we would like to ask some questions like why is the torture, unlawful detainment and killing of our people not dealt with in thesame respect. Arar, a white man, was subject to torture for four and a half years ago. Arar and his lawyers will receive $10 million without any of the delay that our people are going through for similar crimes committed by Canada against us.In Canada, the big news right now is the Pickton trial in British Columbia Com. on page 11
