Woman dies from gunshotAfter hanging in the balance between life and death for nearly 24 hours, a Lake Arthur woman died Thursday night from-a gunshot wound to the head, and charges against her husband have been amended from attempted murder to murder.Pamela Ribble, 38, was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m. at Artesia General Hospital, the Chaves County Sheriffs Department reported. Her husband, 34-year-old Ricky Ribble, was arraigned in Magistrate Court Friday on charges of murder and tampering with evidence.Pamela Ribble was shot with a small caliber handgun just after 1 a.m. at her residence at 710 Eighth St. in Lake Arthur.Police make second robbery arrestFor the second time in a week police collared armed robbery suspects Friday, apprehending one teenage male and pressing additional charges against another teen already in custody.While serving a search warrant at the home of 14-year-old Juan Cruz Ortega, who was arrested Friday, police found a stolen 12-gauge shotgun and a Sten fully automatic submachine gun.Ortega is being charged along with 16-year-old Julian Silva in connection with the Jan. 26 robbery of an Allsups at 1618 S.E, Main St. Silva was arrested Wednesday on charges related to the Jan. 19 robbery of an Allsups at 520 E. Second St.Ortega and Silva face counts of armed robbery, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, conspiracy and tampering with evidence. Both are being held without bond at the Chaves County Juvenile Detention Center, as there is no bond for juveniles.Silva faces additional charges of armed robbery, assault with intent to commit a violent felony andvtampering with evidence in connection with the Jan. 19 robbery.Robert Najar, 19, was also arrested for the Jan. 19 robbery. He is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and is in custody with a $25,000 bond at the Chaves Countv Detention Center.Officer recoveringA Roswell police officer has suffered a concussion but is otherwise in miraculously good condition following a head-on collision Thursday night.Officer Tony Mclntire. 28. and 68-year-old minivan driver George Schrank were transported to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center following the wreck. Both were released by Friday afternoon, the hospital reported.Mclntire, who suffered no broken bones, was initially listed in serious condition.
