LAWYER IMPLICATED.Thousands of Dollars Worth of Goods Stolen at Newark, O.—Charge*Against Attorney.Mrs. Laura Harris and Mrs. Rose White, both married women, residing in Newark, O., were arrested Friday, charged with shoplifting and grandlarceny. Systematic shoplifting had been going on for some time and local merchants had lost thousands of dollars, worth of goods. Mrs. RoseWhite, who was confined in jail Saturday, made a confession which she signed inplicating Mrs. Frederick, and Mrs. Harris. She said that Mrs. Frederick and Prosecuting Attorney T. W. Phillips were trying to shift the responsibility on her shoulders.said in her statement that thereason Mrs. Frederick has not been a rrested beforp was ofi gccollnt of her influenee w.ith Prosecutor Phillips. Awarrant was sworn out for the arrestof Mrs. Frederick Saturday. A complaint to remove Phillips from office was filed with County Clerk O. C. Larazon by Thomas H. Jones, of Granville township, charging him with incompetency, neglect of duty andhabitual drunkenness. The case wasset for hearing before Judge John David Jones. The attorneys for the complainant are the Hon. J. B. Jones. Judge J. M. Swartz and Flory Lory. The order was served on Phillips by Sheriff Anderson.
