Welch, Mayor of New Holland, waived an examination, and failing to furnish bail in the sum of $1,000, was brought to this city, Monday j night, by Marshal Dundon, and placed in the county jail.New Holland was greatly excited over the revolting affair, and threats of lynching Shipley were made.The girl is proposessing in appearance, intelligent, and has been well respected in j the village.
