highway Robbery,—Walter H, Holmes, residing in D street, Orecapoint, was aricstad on Saturday last by Officer Nicholson of tho 4«th Precinct, on com. plaint of John 0. Oliver, who charges that on tho night of tho Diet of January Holmes knocked him down, boat him in a touluol manner, robbed him of $1,102 in biUa, and a gold watch and cba{n valued at $300, and left him in an insensible condition on one of the public streets of Greenpoint, while ho was on his way to his residence from his place of business in New York. Oliver is a bounty broker and has an office in Duauo street. It ap-pears that he had formerly hoarded with Holmes, and states that he recognizee him as the man who first caught him by the goatee at the time of tho brutal outrage.
