Holmes, residing in D street, Oreeapoint, was cricstod on Saturday last by Officer Nicholson of tho 4Uh Precinct, on com. plaint of John 0. Oliver, who charges that on the night of the *21 si ot January Holmes knocked him down, boat him in a touluol manner, robbed him of $1,102 in bilia, and a gold watch and cba{n vaiued at $300, and icft him in an insensible condition on ono of the public streets of Grcenpoint, while he was on bis way to his residence from his place of business in New York. Oliver is a bounty broker and has an office in Duauo street. It ap* pears that he had formerly boarded with Holmes, and states that he recognizes him as the man who fiv.it caught him by the goatee at the time of tho brutal outrage. Tho case is set dowu for a hearing before Justice Dailey on Wednesday afternoon.
