—The article in the Gazette yesterday in reference to the outrageous crimes of V/ilHam Ieichner, produced a universal feeling of surprise, and the demand that justice be meted out to the wretch was made on all hands. His place of business was totally devoid of-customers yesterday, every one apparently wishing to avoid it. Prosecuting Attorney Franca moved promptly in the matter, and summoned a number of witnesses before the Grand Jury. Testimony was adduced sufficient to fasten the crimes upon him, but hardly sulficient, on technical grounds, far an in* dictinent. In the preeent excited state of public feeling. Leichner will probably avoid trouble by leaving the city.
