softball held, Koma said.■ A past Will County official and backroom political power-broker resides in the medium-security federal correctional institute in Phoenix, Ariz.Former Will County Coroner Robert Tezak sits behind bars after being convicted on corruption charges in 1989.Tezak, scheduled for release on Jan. 4, 1997, was accused of conspiring in 1987 to bum down a building he owned that housed financial records subpoenaed by federal investigators.The Phoenix site has 1,300 inmates that includes a mixed housing of open dormitories and cells, Public Information Officer Joe Woodring said.Inmates can walk and shoot baskets outside the prison, Woodring said.Tezak may yet be in for more trouble, though. He now faces a state trial on the same charges involving his torched Joliet building.
