An Obstreperous Optician.On Saturday last an itinerant optician in the person of a Hebrew, who registers at Hotel Haseall as Leopold Ermand, Cincinnati, called at the home of William Henryager, at Dunlaps, and urged upon the folks to buy spectacles. The male members of the family were at the barn, and after the women folk had told him that it was useless to waste breath he continued with a tenacity peculiar to his race to m$ke an “honest nickle” when they siezed a broom and a stove poker to drive him from the house. The women state that at this juncture the peddler flourished a revolver from his pocket and bid defiance. One of the big brother was then attracted to the sceoe by the screams 'of the girls, and at sight of him the Jew shook the dust of the premises at ! a 2:40 gait in the direction of Goshen. Young Henryager preceeded him on horseback and when the Jew reached town he was immediately arrested and taken before Esq. Chamberlain. He employed C. W. Miller as counsel and gave bail for trial this forenoon at 10 o'clock.Ermand appeared in court this morning and although he said that he never' carried a revolver, he found three wit-9nesses ready to testify that he had one on this occasion, and he wisely concluded to * pl£ad guilty, whereupon the court assessed his fine and costs at $14, which he paid!
