Sing Sing Prison Soon Will House Two Condemned WomenOn Basis of Past Records It May Be,a Lucky Omen, For of Four Women Who Have Been Paired In Death House Before, Only One Went To Chair; Poisoner Now In Red Brick BuildingOssining. Feb. 1 (/Pi—For the third time in history, 3lng Bing prison next week will have two condemned women in Its squat, red brick death house.On the basis of past records it may be a lucky omen; for of the four women who have been paired in the death house before, only one went to the chair. -.Mrs. Mary Frances Creighton, 36, convicted of poisoning her alleged lover's wife on Long Island, was the only occupant of death row tonight. She will be Joined next week, however, by Mrs. Dorothy Sherwood. 27, who ha* been sentenced to die for the murder of her’ two year old son.The last time there were two women In the death house wax injj 1934. One of them, Mrs. Anna Antonio, of Albany, was put to death for the murder of her husband, but the other. Addle Exum, negro eventually went free.Two years prior to that there were two women in the grim building at the same time and both won commuted sentences. They were Mrs. Mary Simpson, of Cortland, and Ruth Brown, Kew York negro.Most notorious of all the women Inmates waa Ruth Snyder, who wa* put t/ death with Judd Gray in 1928 for the murder of Mrs, Snyders husband.
