The acci-j lent was due to tne Nor, sheering to port just as the two steamships were aeout to pa*s. Both vessels were more or less badly damaged. Capt. Thomas Cook, a bar pilot, was In charge of the Nor at tne time of the accident. In a report made the harbormaster immediately after the Nor reached port Captain Cook attributes the collision to the sudden sheer of his steamship. Pilot W. Dorgan was in charge ot the Upptanus. The Nor, bound In from Progreso to' the Munson line with sisal, and the Cpplands was bound out for Buenos j j Ayres with lumber. A survey will be held on, both vessels to determine the damage., There is little doubt but that the Upplands will have to discharge cargo and go on the docks. The damage as a result of the col-. lision and which is borne by the maritime insurance companies Involved, will reach fully $10,0(H).Idiot Thomas Cook 'made the following report of the accident: -“Mobile, Ala..
