ACCIDENT.Sunday evening as V. Dolier, accompanied by Casper Schraidt and John Miller, were returning from Middle liassabout eight o'clock, with his horse andsleigh, on the ice, they unexpectedlycame to a large crack wnich they did not see until the horse went in. Just as thetsleigh was going over the edge of the ice, Mr. Dolier jumped one way and Mr, |Schraidt the other, Dolier coming to his lt;feet all right on the solid ice. Mr. « Schraidt not quite so lucky struck into the water, but by the assistance of Dolier, j was rescued. John Miller went in out of!eight, (but soon v came up and was helped out by j the other two. The horse which was Dolier and Jone s pet pony, “Dock, ' was not so lucky, for he went down and remained on the bottom with; the sleigh. Monday morning some parties went out and fished ud the aleiah andharness. This is the second horse D. J.have lost within a year by drowning.“Dock's mate and himself backed off ofthe dock last fall, but “Dock’' was res-oued to await a colder bath,while his com-Danion drowned.
