Independent.Ramona Raided Again10/2/1915 - Saturday night Sheriff Birdsell and his deputies went up to Ramona on a complaint made by a man named Dayton, of Decatur. 111., who said he had been robbed of something like $400 up there. While they were at it the sheriff made a clean haul, taking everybody in sight, including two women. Eula Hames, Josie Parker, Bill English and Lon Parker alleged frequenters of resorts of this kind and locked them all up.Geo. F. Zeigler is charged with running a gambling resort. Bond was fixed at $2,000 each $400 was handed to the sheriff at once when he entered the place and the statement was made that they had found it.Ramona has been going pretty strong of late, and it got so bad that something had to be done. The only regret is that the officers could not make it strong enough to shut the place up, but the bond is strong enough to make some of them sit up and take notice. - The Colorado City Independent.
