This old colored man has resided In Reno ever rlnce thete was a Reno and although he has seen moie than a century of life pass by, he is still nctlvo and works every day of his life* He owns some property on thebank of the Truckee river and objectsto Indians trespassing on his property,Yesterday afternoon Indian Charlie went on to the centenarian's land for the put pose of gathering some wood and was disco^eied by Baceus, who assaulted him with an iron rod and rendeied him unconscious by striking him ovei the head, He was about to strike him again when anpther Indian Intet feted and saved Indian Charlie's life. Baccus was later attested by the police and Is now confined in the county jaU No charge has been made against him, but Indian Charlie ia in n very serious condition and In case he dies, Baceur may he charged with murder. «-
