Gwartney Woundedat Los Angeles.*George K Gwartney, of Oorydon, who haa been •pending the winter at boa Angeles, Oal, waa ihot three timea yeaterday at Lot Angeles by J. Hie wound* are not serious.Gwartney went to Loe Aogelee about three months ago and formed a partner* •hip with Meenaeh whichfoniy con tinned one month. As a result of differences Meenaeh had made numerous threats to injare Gwartney.The trouble col mine ted yeaterday when Meenacn had a quarrel with Mrs. 3wartney over a gas bill and it olaimed he enrsed her. She ran into the honse and olosed the door and Meenaoh shouted that he wonld go to Gwartney’a office and kill him He started down the street and Mrs Gwartney aent her son on his bioyole to warn her husband Gwartney paid no heed to the warning and a. few minutes later Meenaoh made his appearance.Almost without a word of warning be«began shootitfg. The first two shots struck Gwartney in the right hand and took off his flogers. Gwartney rushed at Meenaoh with an opraised ohair and Meenaeh ran from the office After reaching the street Meenaeh turned and fired another shot through the plate glaee window and the bullet struck Gwartney in the forehead orer the right eye. The skull was dented but it is not thought the wound is a serious ooe.A colored janitor jumped on Meenaeh and beat him until he gare op his gan.
