Insane Female Tramp Who Is Searching F’or Her Murdered llaughter.Lyons, Ind., Feb. 1.—Polly Barnett, the well known female tramp of Greenecounty, notwithstanding her reporteddeath, is in this vicinity terrorizing the women and children. Efforts have beenmade to have her kept in the county poorhouse, but so far they have proved ineffectual. Mrs. Florence Harwood, a highly respected Christian woman ofPolly’s two daughters. The school was taught in an adjacent township, long before the murder of one of the daughters, and the consequent insanity of themother, which caused her to take up the tireless search for her murdered child.The remaining daughter tramped with her mother until the hardships incidental to such a life caused her death, andnow the old and solitary woman, clothedin rags, with a black cat as her only companion, continues the search.
