H. Cotter, the yenerahia president of the society, who has served faithfully In that capacity for 26 years, was prevented by his serious sickness from attending, and Vice President I, A, Davis presided, The annual reports of the secretary and treasurer were beard.The most important business o! the meeting was the election of officers. The new officers are: I A. Daris, president; Lem Southard, of Wanda, vice president; J H. Glass, secretary; A. P, Wolf, trees* urer. The finance committee is composed oil 4 Davis, John Btclze and Judge W, H. Krome. The members of the executive committee and the districts which they have in charge are; 1st, John Ryan and A H. Meyers; 2nd, Ed. Fahnestock and Lem Southard, Jr, 5 3rd, Ed, Lanter-umn and SamSiosu; *th, iBenry Eaton and James Aldrich; 5th, Willis Fields and William Poos; 6th, F. W. Wolf; 7th, Nic Werner and Herman Bollmann; 6th, Chas, Brockmeier; 9th, Aug, Gerblg.The following resolutions were adopted by a rising vt te and the secretary Instruct, ed to deliver a copy of the same to the old president!Whereas, this|AsBOclatIon learns with sorrow and regret of the sickness and suffering of our beloved President William H. Cotter, and of his Inability on that account to serve as (any longer In his official capacity, and b# has requested this association to elect his successor; and for the purpose of placing upon the records of this organization the evidence of our appreciation of his long yean of faithful and nneelfish service; ThereforeBe it resolved, by the Madison County Horae Thief Detective Society, that the thanks of said society, be and the same, are hereby tendered to our said President, who for twenty-six consecutive years, has been president of this society, and to whose devotion, unselfish Interests and zeal much of the success and permanency of Jhla society la due.
