It was unusually well attended and a good deal of business was transacted. Officers were chosen lor the ensuing year, Wm H. Cotter was re-elected president; Edward Barnett, vice president; John H. Glass, secretary; John A, Prickett, treasurer. An executive committee was appointed, consisting ol the president, secretary and S. T, Kendall, who were given power to take such action in any case in which the society may be interested as to their judgment seems beBt, in fact, the practical working of the organization was delegated to them that the pursuit of horse thieves may be more effectually carried on. A new set of Neighborhood committeemen were also named. The society i* in a flourishing condition. It has a membership of 235. During the past year 3G new members were admitted. The treasurer’s report shows a balance of $1,000 on hand.
