FROM EMINENCEEd. Republican :—In my last I{gave it as my opinion that this place is the best point for a drug store in the ; country, and I am of the same opinion ; still, especialJy when the business is con-| ducted in the modern style. Our ' drug store is doing a large and flour*; ishing business. From two to three I clerks are all the time busily eugag«*d compounding and selling drugs to their numerous customers. It is said that I exteusive advertising is in order for ! success, and our drug men have not foiled to prefit thereby. They have not only placed a sign over their door,, but have posted it all over the town, at ; every corner, in ail public streets and I on the square, hence their large trade. But to-day it is said the sign is fell* ; mg—felling at tiie door of the drug ' store—falling on the street—falling at the corners—falling off of horses—falling every when1, and is being spirited away and deposited in old saw mills— 1. »r, as the boys say, in the dead house.! La.*! night there was quite a row infront of our drug store. A difficulty arose between some of our neighbor i lioys, but happily there were no bones broken or other serious damage done.To-day, the 25th of Decem!er (Christ* mas.) is a lively day in our town. Quite a number of people from all part* of the country are here. Our merchants are all busily engnge 1 supplying their customers—and more especially our drug men. But I am sorry to say there i i* a nwiy and boisterous crowd in front oi the drug store, whit h I have no doubt i- quite annoying to the clerks therein, in tact, a portion of said crowd are under tfie influence of intoxicating liqu ns I uiso notice that some it them ate minors, and are drunk at that. .Now, I do not mean to insinuate that our drug men violated the law by selling scorpion w hiskv to them, but the question is, where did they get their liquor? We have but one place in town where whisky is sold.Turkey dinners are all the go to-day.We learn that Cornelius Green, formerly ot Hendricks county, ce ebratis j the anniversary of his wedding today.| It is reported that Thomas Cdioemak-er’s house was entered and pilfered last week.
