Police nab man in stabbing death of Safeway clerkTACOMA (AP) — A 19-year-old part-time produce clerk who worked in the same Safeway store as Sally Ann Hale has been arrested in the knifing death of the pregnant woman, Pierce County Sheriff Lyle Smith said today.Smith identified the man as Michael Paul Lovrick of theLakewood area.He was arrested without incidentWednesday evening at the OakbrookSafeway store by sheriff’s officerswho had been watching the store forseveral hours, said Lt. Larry Gibbs.Lovrick was taken to the PierceCounty jail where he was booked onone count of first-degree homicide,Gibbs said.The arrest was the result of ananonymous tip.Det. Walt Stout said officers found a bloody produce knife at the scene of Sunday night’s slaying.
