The mayor this afternoon ia sitting in judgment upon a combined pro-▼oke and assault and battery case, ■ the parties defendant to which are a very old man named Holder and his son Barney whcj reside|at Now Haven. The plaintiff is Mrs. Sarah J. Stitael whose little son was playing in the roadway, ol 1 Holder ordered the lad away, brsudishing a cane. The boy not moving his ba^e with abcrity the old mau flaw at him and Mrs. Stitzel came to her offspring's relief.Then Barney took a hand, clutching the woman by th ■ throat 'and ehok-ing her.
