The fixe was returned by the men iasnie of the house, who were araed with muskets, and Milton MeMansway was shot through the heart and instantly kiHed, living only long enough to say I mu killed” Four or five shots were hred atGeorge and Thomas McManaway, but theywere unhurt. .The McManaway brothers were tapsr-its mean, given to brawling and drunkenness and public senumens is favorable to-wiffd the men who did the killing. The latter voluntarily came to the jail tor® soon alter the afmy, and surrendered themselves to the Sheriff.The Coroner s jury rendered a verdictthat the deceased came to his death from a gunshot wound inftietod by either JohnChapman.
