Convicted.—Erast us Wheeler has been convicted of attempting to kill Thomas Ruple, near Mishawaka, some time last summer, by shooting him in r j the back. The. trial was had in Marshal r I county, and the prisoner was sentenced * ! to eight years i mprisonment. The case _ | was prosecuted by E. W. Metcalfe and | Albert Heath Esqs., and defended by J. Miller of South Bend, and G. W. Frazer of Kosciusko. It was, undoubtedly, a righteous decision.
