Hold local man on BE, gun chargesA 41-year-old Burlington man remains in the Des Moines county jail Friday under $15,600 bond following his arrest on four charges stemming from an incident at 420 S. Seventh Thursday evening.Eddie Jennings, 321 S. Sixth, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of stolen property, breaking and entering, and public intoxication.According to police, Jennings entered the Wesley Matlick residence about 6:30 p.m.Mrs. Matlick said her daughter noticed a man at the door who had been seen in the neighborhood “several times’’ before. The women then went to the living room and called police; meanwhile Jennings allegedly entered the unlocked front door and went upstairs where he was arrested, officers said.A .25-caliber automatic pistol stolen from Country Junque store, 401 S. Central, on June 7 was allegedly found in his possession.Jennings appeared in Judge William Palmer’s court Friday morning and was granted a continuance to allow time for the court to appoint an attorney.
