iWHiiiucrvu.A correspondent from Mitchclstown, county Cork, has informed us of another desperate and ’’flagitious act, com? ^ ,'d by that noted 'desper-a-doe Brennan. On Sunday week, about 11 o'clock, as Mr. J. Hoops, tobacconist, a respectable inhabitant of Michelstown, was returning from Tipperary to that town, he was met between Thornhill Lawn and Massey-Lodge, by Brennan, who , stopped him, and demanded his money and watch. Mr. Hoops - being in possession of about three hundred pounds in bills and notes, was aimed 'with a case of yeomanry pistols, one of which he discharged at the highwayman, which unfortunately wounded him but very slightly; upon this Brennan presented a short fowling-piece, the contents of which lodged in the brclst and shoulders Of Mr. Hoops, «nd( the wound'is pronounced mort^: by a surgeon/f that town; Brennan then robbed this honest man, and got clear olF with his booty. Thus, as in this instance, are the exertions of honest industry frustrated, the fund accumulated for the support of a numerous family destroyed, and law, order, and justice set at defiance by a lawless ruffian. We are informed that this robber lately appeared in open day in the .suburbs of TippeiarV, and though several attempts were made to apprehend hifti, lie succeeded in escaping. *
