SINGLE COPIES 5 CENTS.CHRISTMAS RUSHAT THE POSTOFFICEHeavy Increase of Business at Local Postoffice Handled in Most Able Manner and no Unnecessary Waiting at the WindowNow that Christmas has come and gone there were few people in Corona who really knew what was in store for the clerks and mail carriers at the local postofflce.Long before this day of days came there were a great many Christmas packages being sent and received and practically every trip the mail car-1 Hers made they were loaded down with the regular mail and many packages of various sizes. And even today there was a great many packages received and this state of affairs will undoubtedly continue for two or three days yet.One very noticeable and especially accommodating provision at the office which proved a hit with the patrons was the fact that the public was not required to wait at the window toIstamp their own packages. An extra'window had been prepared and thru/this all the packages were taken care of. The package was handed in andweighed and the required postage was paid. That ended the transaction for the patron. The clerks placed the required amount of postage on the package and placed it where it would go out on the next mail. This prevented a line at the window.Postmaster McNeil burned up many gallons of gasilone in assisting in carrying the packages to the different addresses and this made it possible for every package received at the office to be at the proper address by Christmas morning.
