Claims He was Hired to Do” Sheriff,East Liverpool, O., Dec. 26.—Attorney J. E. Hostetter of Chester, W. Va., recently arrested here and now in jail at Wheeling, charged with conspiracy to kill County Sheriff A. F. Wilkin at New Cumberland, W. Va., is implicated further in a confession. In an attack upon the sheriff's lesidence and the jail three men are alleged to have participated, one of them being Hos-tetter. James Jones, an ex-convict of Allegheny, Pa., received a charge of shot in the shoulders from the sheriff's gun. He confessed, saying Hos-tetter hired him to do” the sheriff. He was to receive $100, he alleges.
