A Mouse Betrayed Him.On Saturday night sZachuriah Taylor Hartwell, of Vernon, entered the flouring mill at that place and appropriated to his own private use a sack of iiour. Hut, after all, it was a dear sack of flour to him, as he found the next morning that before he ‘‘lifted” it a mouse had nibbled a Tiole in the sack so that as he carried it home flour was strewed the whole way along the ground, and the officer of the law made an early call on him. Zach was brought be* fore Judge Berkshire on Monday, plead guilty, and was sentenced to pay a line of 1 cent and be imprisoned 48 hours in the county jail.
