Jaunty Thief RobsLocal Couple Of$20, Is IdentifiedA 33-year-old Sandusky colored man was held in city jail today facing probable charges of armed robbery. He was arrested last night 30 minutes after he had robbed a local couple of $20 and jauntily wished them a Merry Christmas.”About three hours earlier he had attempted to hold up a Sandusky woman but she escaped before he could get any money.Charles Gennari, 318 E. Market------st, and Miss Caroline Zedaker, 318 Reese-st, told police they were silting in Gennari’s car in front of Miss Zcdakcr’s home when a man approached the car.Gennari said he locked the car doors but the colored man pulled a Jong barreled pistol and told him to open the door. When he opened Hie door the man got in the back scat and ordered Gennari' to start driving.During the drive Ihq. holdup man remarked act nice, do as I say and no one will get hurt.I imagine you feel funny, you Know this is a holdup. I felt funny when I had my first holdup too.”He instructed them to stop in front of the Mack Iron and Wire Works. 126 Warren-st. asking Gcn-nari what he had. Gennari replied he had a little Christmas money, and the colored man said he would lake some of it.The robber said lie usually went in for bigger stuff but he needed money badly. He had the young woman remove the billfold from Gennari’s pocket but when she offered it to him, he refused it and ordered her to remove some money and hand it to him.Miss Zedaker handed him a $20 bill from the $33 in the wallet.
