He pleaded innocent at his arraignment, and trial was set for March 9.IN OTHER circuit court action yesterday. Judge Duncan C. Gibb denied a motion to set aside a verdict against Hazel Shifflett Miller who had been found guilty on an indictment charging her with arson last January in a fire in the Winchester Garden Apartments.He also denied bail to Mrs. Miller pending the completion of a presentence report.Judge Gibb also sentenced Dennis Edward Mason to 12 months in jail, suspended, for attempted statutory rape Aug. 3 at Frederick Douglass School.JUDGE GIBB also sentenced William Blair Myers, who had pleaded guilty to forgery, to 12 months in jail, suspended and ordered him to return to the Rubicon drug program in Richmond in which he had been participating. Myers also was placed on probation for three years.Trial for Emory C. Sherman on an indictment accusing him of perjury was set for April 13.
