Hirstein gave this account:Opie Lee Lowe, 45, came to the Pekin police station shortly after noon yesterday and signed a warrant charging Mrs. Bessie L. Mehs with accault with- intent to kill. He gave no motive for the alleged attempt on his life.Shortly afterwards Mrs. Mehs filed an accident report stating her car had struck Lowe accidentally on a lane near Pekin about 11:30 A. M. Lowe's warrant was served on her and she was freed on bond.Later in the afternoon Lowe died in a hospital.
